Our Traditional Camper Weeks: A Classic SJYC Experience
Our overnight camps for ages 6-12 are at the heart of the St. Joseph’s Youth Camp experience. This traditional overnight camp session offers children ages 6 to 12 the chance to unplug, try new things, and grow in independence while being surrounded by encouragement, structure, and care.
Over the course of seven days and six nights, campers dive into the activities that make summer camp unforgettable. Horseback riding, archery, kayaking, hiking, arts and crafts, campfire nights, capture the flag, skit night, and astronomy are all part of the experience. Each day is intentionally designed to balance fun, learning, and rest so campers feel supported and energized.
Beyond the activities, Camper Week focuses on character development and social growth. Campers practice teamwork, responsibility, communication, and resilience through hands on experiences and shared cabin life. They explore STEAM topics, outdoor education, and social emotional learning in ways that feel natural and exciting rather than classroom based.
While your child is building friendships and confidence, you can have peace of mind knowing they are cared for by experienced, background‑checked staff who treat every camper like family. Safety, belonging, and personal growth are central to everything we do at SJYC.
Many families tell us our camp becomes a highlight of their child’s summer and a place where they see meaningful growth in confidence, independence, and joy.
