As credentialed and professional educators with Master's Degrees in Education, the founders, Stephen & Maggie Zygo, envisioned a dynamic learning environment where families could bring their kids to make new friends, grow new skills, and walk away with a new sense of confidence. Over the past ten years, Acting Academy for Kids has done just that! We offer dozens of year-round educational programming designed to spark the imagination of people of all ages and foster a lifelong love of the arts. The Parks and Recreation Department provides residents with a system of community parklands, and a wide range of recreational opportunities, cultural programming for the entire community, special programs for individuals and groups, services to senior citizens, especially through the Joslyn Center, specialized community services (Farmer's Market, Community Garden, etc.), transportation assistance through Senior Ride and landscape maintenance of municipal buildings.

The Community Services Department (formerly known as Parks and Recreation) provides programs and facilities to meet the recreation and leisure needs of the community. The department administers the use of and maintains several park and athletic facilities in the City, and provides programs for all ages in a wide range of interests and activities.

The Recreation Services Division provides quality leisure service experiences to all residents and guests in a fun, safe environment at an affordable cost in order to strengthen our communities image and sense of place, promote health and wellness, increase cultural unity and support economic development.

Are you looking to learn cooking skills or build on the ones you already have? Do your kids like to spend time in the kitchen cooking? Join us for our immersive, hands-on cooking classes.

We provide a nurturing environment for kids to explore the world of sewing. New students will embark on a journey with three beginner projects, each designed to build their skills progressively. With each project, they'll learn new techniques and gain confidence in their sewing abilities. Intermediate to advanced students can choose from our project library and new projects that are introduced monthly. We believe students are more engaged when they have a choice in what they are creating.

Craft in Schools fieldtrips, craft circles, and other youth-family/all ages artist talks and workshops. We work primarily with classroom teachers for more formal school programming, but welcome youth and families of all ages into our space.

LAM+LAB at Laguna Art Museum is a space for exploration and play. Now you can bring LAM+LAB home with these art activities designed for all ages. As we tell students who visit us at the museum: There are no rules. You are the artist. Be inspired by the art from Laguna Art Museum’s exhibitions, but please make it your own and let your imagination lead you in unexpected directions. Painting with a Twist is a fun art studio for anyone interested in painting! In our classes, we use acrylic paints on 16" x 20" canvas and teach the class step by step through the specific painting of the day. Most of our guests have no painting experience and all of them have great success! No mess. Painting with a Twist does the set-up and clean-up. Guests enjoy the benefits of painting without the hassles of prepping and cleaning up. Relaxation.
