About RowLA
RowLA is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering equitable education and athletic opportunities by providing summer camps and competitive rowing programs that empower girls to succeed on and off the water. Through expert coaching, mentorship, team building, and, of course, fun, RowLA shapes not only skilled rowers but also confident young leaders prepared to face future challenges.
Studies show that out-of-school programs, especially athletics, play a crucial role in youth development—improving self-esteem, fostering teamwork, and enhancing physical health. According to the Women’s Sports Foundation’s Play to Lead report, girls participating in sports helps them develop critical building blocks that mobilize them to lead throughout their lives. Rowing, in particular, is a low-impact, full-body workout that builds endurance, strength, and mental resilience, all while promoting fun, camaraderie, and teamwork - on and off the water.
