If you're not familiar with D&D (as seen in movies/TV shows like Stranger Things, Critical Role, and D&D Honor Among Thieves), it's a collaborative roleplaying game that uses dice, improv, and character sheets to tell a story. Having years of experience touring educational theater to elementary, middle, and high school students that focused on mental health, I bring a Social and Emotional Learning emphasis to the games that I run.
In addition to D&D providing an imagination based, creative, and social outlet/community to kids, it also promotes:
- empathy
- teamwork
- conflict management
- problem solving
- interpersonal skills
- practicing simple math
- and more!
A session of Dungeons & Dragons will take our group of adventurers through a collaborative and imaginative story where we practice empathy, team work, problem solving, math, and other social skills!
